Taking the Time to do the Firmware Right.

Welcome to our pages on Printing Press Registration Control, UV Control, and Allied Arts.

  • Controls Maintenance, Error Checking, and Tips .

  • Press Operator How-to's, Registration Gotcha's, and Tips. (How the COMCO Pro-Glide Auto Register actually works, or doesn't.) .

We've been associated with COMCO Machinery (aka Mark Andy/COMCO), maker of the finest flexographic Printing Presses, since about 1990.

Our involvement started when we were asked to re-write the ARC 1000 Automatic Registration System firmware in 1990. COMCO offered the ARC 1000 System on their Captain and Commander series Printing Presses starting sometime in the mid 1980's. The ARC 1000 ceased shipping at the end of 1997 for two reasons: the Maple Systems 501, 590, and 901 Controller Boards used by the ARC 1000 went out of production; and we adapted our new and greatly improved Register System, heretofore only used on the COMCO Mark Series Presses, for the Commander line.
